Privacy Notice

This notice describes what data Wexford County Released Inmates receives, how it is used, and when another party may receive it. It also covers cookies, linked services, security limits, and available privacy choices. By continuing to use this site, you accept the practices described here.

Information You Submit

Terms Entered in Search Tools

When a visitor enters a name, place, or other term in a partner-powered search box, the query is sent to the outside provider that operates the tool. Wexford County Released Inmates does not keep or log those search terms on its own systems.

Emails and Other Messages

If you send an email or contact message, we keep the information needed to read and answer it. Message content is not shared outside the organization unless disclosure is required by law.

Technical Data From Visits

Routine web systems may record basic technical details when a page loads. This information helps operate the site and understand broad usage patterns.

  • The visitor's Internet Protocol address
  • Browser name and version
  • Device category and operating system
  • Pages viewed and time spent on them
  • The referring page or site, when supplied
  • Date and time records for the visit

Cookie Use

Cookies may be used to measure how visitors move through the site. Most browsers let users reject or remove cookies. Blocking them can cause certain tools or page features to work differently.

Reasons We Use Data

Collected information is used for ordinary site operation and improvement.

  • Maintain performance and site availability
  • Send search requests to the selected partner service
  • Measure which pages visitors find useful
  • Detect, diagnose, and correct technical faults
  • Display advertising that may reflect visitor interests

Privacy Beyond This Site

Links may lead to Wexford County records pages, the sheriff, Michigan corrections services, court portals, federal locators, and outside search providers. Once you follow a link, the destination's privacy rules govern its collection and use of data. Government record access may also be governed by the Michigan Freedom of Information Act, MCL 15.231 through 15.246, and other laws that apply to the record holder.

Some advertising companies may use their own technology to follow activity across websites and select interest-based ads. That processing takes place on the partner's systems, not on systems controlled by this site.

When Data May Be Shared

We do not sell personal information. Data may still be handled by limited categories of recipients that support site functions or carry legal authority.

  • Search providers that process submitted queries
  • Analytics vendors that measure site traffic
  • Advertising networks that deliver ads
  • Law-enforcement agencies or government bodies acting under a valid legal order

Security Has Practical Limits

We use standard safeguards suited to the information and services involved. No website, network, or storage method can be promised to be completely secure, so we cannot guarantee that a breach will never occur.

Adults Only

This site is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone younger than 18. If a minor has submitted information, contact us so the material can be reviewed and deleted.

Your Privacy Choices

Depending on the law that applies, a visitor may make the following requests about personal data we hold:

  • Ask for a copy of retained personal data
  • Request correction of inaccurate information
  • Ask for eligible data to be erased
  • Opt out of certain forms of processing where that right is available
